Male Health Problems Caused By Type 2 Diabetes

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder whereby the sugar or glucose in the bloodstream cannot be used to provide the body with the energy it needs to function. Using the sugar in the bloodstream is facilitated by the hormone insulin. There are three types of diabetes, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body destroys the cells responsible for creating insulin. Gestational diabetes is like type 2 diabetes but only for women during pregnancy. It will normally cease after the birth. This article will focus on type 2 diabetes and some of the health problems that result for men that have the condition.
