Success Strategy - Are You Creating A Magnetic Force Attracting The Right Clients To You?

As you assess your current client base recognize that you have attracted those clients. Are they the clients you want? If so, you’re very clear and focused on attracting your ideal clients, and you’re doing a good job of it. If not, perhaps you need to gain clarity and change your focus so you can change the composition of your client base.
Early on in your business your success strategy may have been just to get business. And that is exactly what you got. Now as you evaluate the business you have it may not match what you want or need going forward. You’ve probably also discovered there are certain segments of your customer base that are far more enjoyable to work with than others. So what if you were to clarify your ideal customer? Not only in terms of their occupation or geographic location, but also in terms of the qualities and characteristics they have. After you have a very clear picture of this composite ideal customer you’re ready to focus on attracting those customers.
Without focus it’s impossible to create a magnetic force of attraction. Focus provides the concentration of energy required to generate the magnetic force. Because of your clarity and focus you are able to direct your energies, efforts, and activities toward attracting those ideal customers. Focus needs to be placed on the ultimate outcome you want not just on a stepping stone on the path to that outcome. But you will need to focus on each stepping stone to get to your destination. For example, if you’re an insurance agent or financial advisor you may be focusing on getting appointments. Consequently you’re getting lots of appointments, but you may be closing only a few of those appointments. Where’s your focus? Is it on appointments or is it on getting appointments with ideal clients who are eager to do business with you? This may sound like a subtle and insignificant difference, but it’s actually a huge life changing difference. And when you experience it you will fully understand.
Ideal clients make fulfilling your success strategies that much easier. What makes that type of client attractive to you? What is it about those qualities and characteristics in a client that invigorates you? How can you tell when you speak with someone if they are a good fit for you and your business? What questions could you ask that would help you to discover the information you need to know about this other person? As you think about these questions you’re developing a filtration process that will enable you to focus on the people who make success that much easier for you.
For this success strategy to be successful it has to be a two way street. So, what makes you attractive to the clients you want to attract? What was it about you, what you have to offer, how you communicated with them that made the ideal clients you want decide to choose you over all the other options? Can you repeat and perfect this process so you’re consistently more attractive to the people you want as clients?
