Why Some Traditions Are Incorporated In The Wedding Ideas?

One of the occasions that incorporate a number of traditions in the conceptualization of the occasion is marriage. Almost every family and culture has their own traditions that they follow even in their bridal concepts. Some of these practices evolved to how these are done at present, but generally, these traditions carry with it the original tenor of the belief of the family or the community to which the bride or the groom belongs.
To cite for instance, did you ever wonder why there are those who plan out the bridal dress and the groom’s attire to be almost similar to that of the bridesmaid or the best man? You would be surprised to know that this concept was traditionally intended to ward off evil spirits and to confuse bad elements who want to harm either the bride or the groom. Do not be surprised also if you happen to see a bride who carries garlic and grains rather than flowers and conclude something else. For all you know, she and her family are firm believers that a girl who walks down the aisle has to be protected from bad spirits.
In terms of the bridal gown, a number of changes were made through time on how the bride should appear in the matrimony. Unlike the old days where brides do not really have to wear gowns but just take out their best dress, elegant gowns can now be worn by brides. The veils too are no longer compulsory to wear but merely for adornment. Also, from the 19th century traditional white bridal gowns, gowns at present can come in different colors such as red, pink, gold or whatever you want for the color of your gown.
Then another favorite tradition incorporated in the bridal concept is the ’something’ like something that is blue to signify loyalty throughout the marriage and peaceful relations in your home, something old to imply a linkage to your family and your life prior to your marriage life, something new to suggest success and good life to start for your marriage life, something borrowed to imply the support and love of your family and friends on your marriage and many others.
Who would forget the tradition of ring exchange which originated in ancient Egypt? The ring is round shaped and it symbolizes eternity and unending love for each other. The reason also why the ring is placed in the ring finger is because this finger has a vein connected to the heart which symbolizes love. Then not to forget the cake which symbolizes sweetness and love throughout the marriage. There are still plenty of traditions incorporated in every bridal concept that you can think of.
