When trying to access free police records there are many different resources available on the internet. Each and everyone of them promises unfettered and easy access to someones criminal background check but, the question is, do any of them pass the smell test?

Well, in my experience most of them simply do not live up to the hype and expectations. The scenario is almost always the same. You see a link that is pointing you to a site that promises to give you the opportunity to look through a public records database so, you quickly click on the site. Once there, you quickly enter the persons name that you are trying to investigate and then hit the enter button.

What happens next is one of the most frustrating things I have ever experienced.

The next page that you are taken to requires you to pay a small fee to get the criminal background check that you were hunting for. For whatever reason, they never deliver what they promise you.

So, what exactly has happened to free?

The problem is, there are very few resources that are available online that can actually provide you with a someones criminal record or their arrest record. The reason for this is, these types of sensitive documents are often difficult to get your hands on in an effort to protect peoples privacy.

The good news is, while free police records are difficult to get there are sites that can give the general public exactly what they want and need. The report that they provide you is extremely comprehensive and accurate in the sense that you are able to download a file that contains a very detailed account of someones criminal past.
