Internet Home Based Jobs - 8 Questions To Ask To Avoid Scams

Posted on July 19, 2008 - Filed Under Home Based Business

The Internet is full of moneymaking opportunities. There are just as many scams out there, if not more.

There is a thin line between being wisely skeptical, and being paranoia. The goal is to do the most thorough due diligence on the company of interest to you. Then sleep on it and pray over it for a few days. This always helps you get out of the emotional phase, so that you can objectively make a wise decision.

Here are 8 tried and tested questions to ask to avoid being scammed:

1. Do they have a legitimate phone number? If not, don’t even bother. There’s a very high probability that they’re not a legitimate and professional company.

2. Do they have testimonials? If what they promise is so big, shouldn’t they be swimming in a pool of testimonials?

3. Are the testimonials legitimate? I have lost track of how many times I found a company promising the world, that had numerous testimonials only to find out after tracking and calling the names and websites of these testimonials that either the website doesn’t work, or the people have been asking the company to get their names off their site because they never wrote the testimonials to begin with!

4. Do they have a money back guarantee? This is one of the best indications that the company you’re dealing with is confident with their products and/or services.

5. Do they have references that they are confident to give you? If not, something maybe fishy here. They often use the excuse, “Well, we don’t give away the private information of our clients. If you were our client, you wouldn’t want it we gave away your private phone number, would you?” This is a red flag!

6. What does the average Joe Schmoe make with this opportunity by month three? More often than not, companies provide statistics from their superstars, rather than from the regular average Joe. Also, more often than not, they answer with, “Well, it all depends.” It seems like the fear of giving out the true answer keeps most companies from understanding what the simple word “average” means.

7. How much do I need to get started and how much do I need to put in every month and for how long? Most people who join any work-at-home business opportunities are emotionally attached to the promise of freedom and high monthly income from what they hear, without practically thinking through the practicality of the money commitment.

8. How much do I need to commit to get this business going? Most people are shocked to see how much work it truly takes to launch a home based business. They don’t take into consideration the enormous time involved with just the learning curve aspect of Internet marketing or working from home.

There are many legitimate opportunities in the Internet that has made many Americans millionaires. Make sure you don’t fall prey to many scams on your way to becoming a home business millionaire.

Don’t give up. If they can do it, you can too!
