If we had the political will, or if the FDA was less political, drug trials could be made more honest almost immediately with one simple procedure. Bifidobacteria is a group of good, friendly bacteria which are essential for life and good health and particularly important to the health and proper function of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. One way to increase the Bifidobacteria populations in the intestine is by consuming foods containing prebiotics — nutrients that stimulate the growth of probiotic Acidophillus and Bifidus bacteria. Research conducted at Michigan State University has shown that honey, a natural sweetener comprising vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and antioxidants, contains a number of fermentable carbohydrates including a variety of oligosaccharides that can function as prebiotics enhance the growth, activity and viability of bifidobacteria in milk, and fermented dairy products such as yoghurts.

Vernal keratoconjunctivitis is a non-contagious, seasonal allergic disorder usually appearing during the spring or warm weather. It is a disease mostly affecting children, most commonly occurring during puberty, and more frequently in boys.

Vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC) is a recurrent ocular inflammatory disease that has a seasonal incidence. It is basically an allergic eye condition, accounting for roughly 0.1 to 0.5% of ocular disease. It tends to occur more in dry, warm climates. Some people experience symptoms year round, however the peak season for vernal conjunctivitis is between April and August. VKC is a disease that affects children and young adults. VKC is associated with a 95% prevalence of concomitant eczema and an 87% prevalence of asthma and other allergic conditions.
