Stop Surfing To Insanity - How To Really Turn Your Online Business Around

Stop the Insanity!!
There are literally thousands upon thousands of people coming online everyday. Many of those people want to figure out how to make money online.
The problem is twofold… ON the one hand, there are not that many people that truly know how to create a significant income online, and on the other hand, most people just really are not willing to do what it takes to learn how, or to go through the “learning curve”
The major turning point in my online career was when I started attracting people to me, instead of “cold calling”
That is really a subtle difference, but what a huge difference it made in my business.
Most of the people that I was trying to recruit into my business were either already involved in a business and did not want to look at another one, or they were too broke to really be able to do anything.
I needed to change my approach. I found a product that most beginning internet marketers would want and use. Something that they could get very inexpensively, but something that would really provide true value. For them to get the product, they would have to give me their name and email address.
Then, through a series of autoresponder messages, I would share with them my experiences over the years, and develop a relationship through the autoresponder and/or actual telephone calls.
Someone that knows you, trusts you, purchased or got something valuable from you in the past, makes for a very good prospect for future sales and an ongoing business relationship.
So the trick is to put together a system that does the following.
1. Offer your target market what they want. (Usually some how-to informational product)
2. Monetize that process (have your lead generation process pay you)
3. Create relationships with phone calls or autoresponder emails
4. Offer valuable advice, hints, tips and tricks to your autoresponder list.
5. Offer your business or product to that list.
It’s really that simple. Sometimes we make it more difficult than it really needs to be.
You need to identify your target market. Who are the people that you want to offer your product or service to, and where do they hang out?
For me, it was simple. I wanted to market my program to beginning internet marketers. They were the people that needed the most help, and we had the experience and history to be able to help them.
Where do they hang out?
Well I found a good source for where they hang out. Many of them are trying to promote businesses through traffic exchanges.
Traffic exchanges are kind of a “I’ll look at your website if you look at mine” sort of arrangement.
Typically the people that are on the traffic exchanges are somewhat internet “newbies” which is my target market.
You can look a couple of them up. My two favorites are…

So the next step was to offer them a product or service (less than 10.00) that they could purchase that would help them become a better marketer on the traffic exchanges themselves.
I did not offer a business, I offered a TOOL. (BIG DIFFERENCE!!!)
So I collect the names of the people that want to try out my tool. Then they are on my list. Once they are on my list I try to offer hints, tips and tricks, that will make them be more effective marketers.
For those prospects that are serious, they typically try to seek me out for additional advice, and then of course we market our primary program to them, along with the training and support for developing their own lead generation system. If they are not ready to join us that is great… At least we have been able to provide them with something useful. Also, when people are on my list long enough…. eventually they will purchase something else from you
Try to meet your prospects where they are. Instead of beating them over the head with your business proposal, offer them something of value. Try to help them solve their problem…
As always we always appreciate and comments questions, or concerns on anything that we write.
