Import From China Tips

1.When you have found the business opportunity or products interested in,you can use internet search engine to find suppliers or post your buy trade leads in B2B.
2.Do some homework to see if there is any import regulation.
3.Contact with supplier,choose some for further discussion.There are two kind of supplier,agent(third party company,sourcing company),factory.Agent don’t produce themselves,they buy in and sell out,but they know more about local condition,be familiar with import export process,know more factories.Factory ususally have more control on production,the cost may be less.Whether choosing agent or factory,make sure that they can communicate with you by English well, and they know products well.
4.After finding suitable supplier,you will discuss products detailed requirement,price,sample availability.Ask them if you they place a trial order for test.
5.Then comes for payment terms and delivery terms.For payment terms,usually there are L/C at sight,T/T.For delivery terms,usually there are FOB supplier’s seaport,CIF your seaport.Fob just includes the cost of goods,while CIF includes the cost of goods,insurance,sea freight.CIF and Fob are terms for sea shipping,if you need the goods urgently,you can consider about air shipping. For sea shipping,you can contact your local shipping forwarder to handle ship space booking,customs clearance after shipment arrived.You can also use supplier’s shipping forwarder to do that.
6.Then all is ok,you just waiting for the goods to arrive at your seaport.
