Conversion Rate On 50 Dollar Product Compared With 100 Dollar Product
Posted on May 28, 2008 - Filed Under Business
What is your average conversion rate on a fifty dollar product?
Caller 5: Well, my only fifty dollar product is a one time offer it is about forty dollars, so really off the subscribers coming in that converts at about seven percent, but I would guess at just sending straight traffic coming through that would be about three percent I ‘d say.
Sean: Okay, so about 3%,, and I’m guessing if you just sent straight traffic to that ten dollar product it would probably be lower than that ten percent, am I right?
Caller 5: Yeah, probably, I mean if you want to say you know you mean, average, you know if you wanted to just average just a mediocre sales page on that ten dollar product it would probably be about 5 % to 10%. But most of the time I promote 200 products, I put a lot of urgency, so they usually convert very well.
Sean: They do convert very well, and you’re probably not sending them out all of the time, so its kind of special opportunity to get something at that low of a price when you’re sending them out at that low of a price to your list, am I right?
Caller 5: Yeah yeah.
Sean: Okay, how about a hundred dollar products? What is your conversion rate on your hundred dollar products Caller 5?
Caller 5: The conversion rate on my software is 3.5 %.
Sean: Okay, 3.5%, and that’s what, $97?
Caller 5: Yeah, thats $97.
This is from a live discussion I have had with some of my clients - the idea here is that as price goes up, although conversion rate may go down incrementally, the total profits and total revenues made from higher priced products, assuming a similar sales audience, continues to grow and increase with price.
The moral of the story: you may be pricing your products too low!
